We offer servicing and repair for OO scale British outline Hornby, Bachmann and Lima locomotives. For any others, please enquire. We do not offer a repair service for N gauge locomotives.

Minor repairs can be included in servicing. If it is discovered the locomotive requires additional repairs, we will contact you before starting work.

Locomotive Repair Service

If a model requires extensive work that will result in a cost of more than £30, we will contact you before commencing any work.

We aim to complete all work within four weeks, but delays may occur when spares are not readily available or during busy periods.

Please bear in mind we are a working shop, and we offer this service to help our customers.

The shop sales are what keeps the business going, and takes priority over repairs, so during busy periods, repairs may take longer.

Any repairs we are unable to complete will not be charged.

Please DO NOT post items without contacting us first.

Royal Mail often fail to deliver in our area, and do not tell us if they are holding post, so items can end up being returned because we are unaware they are waiting at the Sorting Office.

Because of this we will supply an alternate address for receiving servicing.

We Digital Fit to OO locomotives that are DCC Ready or non-Ready.

We will Digital Fit to N Gauge locomotives that are DCC Ready, but not non-ready.

DCC Fitting Prices

DCC Ready Locomotives £7.50 or £10 for TTS sound chips being fitted to TTS sound ready locomotives

Non-DCC Ready Locomotives from £20 + cost of Digital Decoder of your choice (where space / suitability allows)

We offer free fitting when purchasing a DCC Ready locomotive.

Fitment on the spot may not always be possible when we are busy or on complex locomotives.

We are unable to fit decoders to the following:

 Wrenn/Hornby Dublo, Tri-ang, Split Chassis type Mainline/Bachmann or others, non DCC ready N gauge, Kit built (unless Ready To Run chassis)

DCC fitting to most new locomotives is possible, but this is not always possible on some older locomotives or some with split chassis.
